Instead of using single use plastic bags to corral your produce, or letting your apples roam free and cilantro get stuck in the conveyor belt (guilty), invest in some reusable produce bags. Mesh bags are great so you can see what’s inside, but we like these solid ones—in a variety of sizes with tare weight right on the tag—to keep things safe inside. (They can also be used in the bulk section.) Opt for cotton bags either way, so they don’t leach microplastics when you wash them. You can find reusable produce bags in the bulk section or low waste shops locally, too.
